Police have identified and reported a man who illegally rode on the back of a train at Port Adelaide last week.
The man was pictured after he jumped on to the rail line around 8.20am Thursday, August 27, and climbed on the back of the city-bound train at the Port Adelaide Railway Station.
The Outer Harbor line train’s express journey travelled at speeds of 90km/h while the man sat on its exterior without anything for protection.
The driver reported he saw the man walking off the exterior of the carriage when it stopped at West Croydon. The train continued after the man left the carriage.
Police say the behaviour is dangerous, illegal and an inconvenience to passengers.
“The culprit may face a transit barring order and fine,” a police spokesperson said.
The man was described to have been wearing a hi-vis yellow jumper, navy pants, sunglasses and a black cap at the time of the incident.
After information was provided by the public to police, the a 29-year-old Walkerville man was reported on Thursday for impeding a passenger transport service.
He will appear in court at a later date, and issued a three-month public transport barring order.
It follows an incident earlier this year, where CCTV cameras captured two minors riding on the back of a train at Millswood.
The pair, who appeared to be wearing school uniforms, were seen surfing the train around 3.45pm on Wednesday, May 13. Police never identified the offenders.
