Nearly 40kg of cannabis and more than $220,000 were found hidden in a truck stopped at Truro last Friday night.
Officers stopped the vehicle, heading towards Adelaide on the Sturt Highway, for an inspection just before midnight.
An electric drill was seen attached on the wheel arch, prompting officers to suspect illegal items were stowed elsewhere in the truck.
It was towed to the Ottoway Police Compound, where police conducted a thorough search and found 39kg of cannabis in the trailer and $228,000 in the cabin.
The driver, a 45-year-old New South Wales man, was charged with trafficking in a large commercial quantity of illegal drugs and money laundering.
He was remanded in custody to face the Adelaide Magistrates Court in December.
