Huge steroid drug lab bust at Prospect
More than 300,000 steroid pills, liquid steroids and weapons – even a homemade bomb – have been found in a commercial-grade drug lab bust.

A man has been arrested after police uncovered a sophisticated drug lab with more than 300,000 steroid tablets, 200 vials of liquid steroids and weapons at Prospect over the weekend.
A home was searched on Saturday, where officers located a clandestine lab, with various chemicals, 200 vials containing liquid anabolic steroids and 320,000 steroid tablets.
Police classed the equipment as specialist commercial grade, which included a pill press, scales and labelling machine which were all seized.
A number of prohibited weapons were found including a taster, 11 double edged knives, knuckle dusters and an improvised explosive device.
A 48-year-old Prospect man was arrested and charged with manufacturing prescription drugs, trafficking prescription drugs and numerous weapons offences.
He was refused bail and is expected to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
It follows a police plea for people to continue reporting suspicious behaviour to break down the “insidious” drug trade, after four labs were uncovered across Adelaide in less that two weeks.
From August 13 to August 24, police uncovered various drug labs in suburbs across Adelaide including Netley, Morphett Vale, Parkside and Happy Valley.

The results were released by the Australian Crime Commission, which recorded regional SA had the highest consumption of cannabis in the nation.
