SATURDAY, JANUARY 16
HOUSE SEVERELY DAMAGED IN PARALOWIE BLAZE
A house was significantly damaged after it caught fire on Saturday afternoon.
The fire started about 2pm on Melvina Road at Paralowie.
Firefighters worked for 40 minutes to contain the blaze, and no-one was injured in the incident.
The house was severely damaged in the incident, and early estimates predicted damages worth up to $250,000.
CEDUNA YOUTHS ARRESTED FOR THROWING ROCKS AT PEOPLE
Five teenagers have been arrested for allegedly throwing large rocks at people in Ceduna this week. Police attended a disturbance a Ceduna address on Thursday about 7.25pm, where youths were allegedly throwing large rocks at people and towards a house.
A car was damaged, and police identified five suspects involved.
Five youths were arrested at 9pm at a separate address. Another teenager was arrested after he was identified as wanted in relation to a theft that happened on Sunday, January 10.
The males, ranging from 13 to 15 years old, were arrested and charged with aggravated affray, aggravated assault, property damage and throwing a missile.
They were interviewed and charged in relation to the theft matter.
The suspects were granted bail, to appear in the Ceduna Youth Court in coming months.
FRIDAY, JANUARY 15
HEAVY DELAYS ON FREEWAY
City-bound motorists are seeing heavy delays on the South Eastern Freeway this morning, after a three-car crash at Stirling.
The pileup happened just before 7.30am Friday on the east side, near Old Mount Barker Road and the Gould Road Bridge. Police said the scene will be cleared soon, but motorists are experiencing delays due to the incident.
It follows an earlier truck fire on the freeway at Crafers West overnight.
The B-double was travelling on the down track near the Heysen Tunnels, when the driver pulled over in the arrester bed due to suspected engine troubles.
The truck caught fire about 1.30am Friday.
The grain the truck was carrying was reportedly saved in the blaze.
The truck driver did not suffer injuries.
WOMAN FOUND WITH DRUGS AND WEAPONS IN CAR
A woman has been arrested after police found multiple weapons and drugs in her car at Seaton.
Police saw a woman sitting in a parked car at a hotel on Tapleys Hill Road about 2.15am Friday and searched her car. They allegedly located a taser, knife, axes, prescription medication and a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
A 39-year-old woman from Semaphore Park, was charged with weapons and drug offences, and driving disqualified.
Her car was impounded for a month and she was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court in February.
ROBBERY AT LOXTON
A man has been arrested after he allegedly robbed a service station at Loxton overnight.
The man entered the servo on Bookpurnong Terrace about 12.30am Friday and verbally threatened staff, before leaving with cigarettes and tobacco products.
Staff were not physically injured in the incident.
Patrols searched the area and found a man matching the description of the suspect on nearby First Street. Police seized a number of tobacco products allegedly in his possession.
The 40-year-old Kent Town man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery and refusing to state personal details. He was refused bail, expected to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court today.
THURSDAY, JANUARY 14
PAIR DO A RUNNER FROM STOLEN CAR CRASH
A pair has fled the scene of a crash after ploughing through a fence in a stolen car.
The driver and passenger lost control of the gold Nissan sedan before 1pm on Thursday and crashed into several fences on Tennyson Street in Kurralta Park.
The car finally came to a halt in a front yard, where the pair – described as young men by witnesses – ran away.
A police dog was unable to locate the suspects.
The car was found to have been stolen from a Reynella home overnight.

STOLEN CAR FOUND TWO YEARS LATER
A man has been arrested in the northern suburbs after he was found with a ute that was stolen two year ago.
The 47-year-old Para Hills man was discovered at a car wash near Main North Road and Kings Road, Parafield, at 4.30 on Thursday morning. Police had received a tip-off about a man behaving suspiciously.
He was found with a Toyota ute bearing incorrect NSW number plates.
The ute was stolen from a dealership in NSW in February 2019.
He has been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and is expected to be bailed to appear in court at a later date.
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 13
FIRE FOLLOWS POLICE CHASE
A man whose car caught fire after a police chase in the northern suburbs has been arrested.
Police followed the man after receiving a report of him entering a rural property at Buckland Park.
He was spotted on Carmelo Road where police tried to pull the Holden over, before a short chase.
It was called off for safety reasons before the car turned on to Port Wakefield Road.
The car was spotted on various roads in the areas before road spikes were put out on Purling Avenue in Edinburgh.
The 37-year-old Craigmore man tried to avoid the spikes, losing control of his car and crashing into an embankment, where it caught alight.
Police chased the man, who tried to run away, and extinguished the fire.
The man is expected to be charged with dangerous driving to escape police pursuit, speed dangerous, drive contrary to defect and driving suspended.
ARSON AT NORTH ADELAIDE GOLF COURSE
Multiple trees were set fire in what police say was an arson attack at North Adelaide overnight.
Two fires were lit at the base of trees at the North Adelaide Golf Course on War Memorial Drive about midnight Wednesday. While fire crews worked to put out the fires, another three trees were set alight at their base on the eastern side of the course.
A police dog with patrols searched the areas. but did not locate suspects.
Minor damage was caused to the trees and surrounding vegetation.
Police will continue to investigate, and urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
POLICE STAND-OFF AT PORT AUGUSTA WEST
A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing someone after an hour-long standoff with police at Port Augusta West overnight. Police attended a home on Holtham Court after it was alleged a man was assaulting a woman about 2.30am Wednesday. The man refused to come out of the premises, and threatened to further assault the woman inside.
The area was cordoned off, and after an hour, the man surrendered and was arrested without incident. A 34-year-old Kilburn man has been charged with aggravated assault, unlawful threats, unlawful detention and breach of intervention order.
He was refused bail.
The woman, who is known to him, was taken to Port Augusta Hospital with a minor stab wound to her thigh.
The arrested man will appear in Port Augusta Magistrates Court today.
SUSPECT ON THE RUN AFTER ST CLAIR ROBBERY
Police are hunting the suspect of a robbery at a St Clair bottle shop on Tuesday.
A man pulled up at a bottle shop of Cheltenham Parade on a black bicycle with straight handle bars about 5.10pm Tuesday.
He entered the store, and picked up three bottles of alcohol.
When attempting to leave the stores with the bottles, he was challenged by a staff member. The suspect told the staff member he had a gun, but no firearm was seen, and no-one was injured.
The man left the area on his push bike and was last seen riding south on Cheltenham Parade.
The suspect, pictured, is described as being aged in his early 20s, a slim build, about 172cm tall, with an olive complexion and short beard. He was wearing a peaked cap, black bike helmet, sunglasses, khaki green shorts, a short sleeved grey T-shirt, an aqua shoulder bag and beige shoes.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 12
DRIVER ESCAPES SERIOUS INJURY IN ELIZABETH CRASH
A driver is lucky to be alive after a nasty crash at an Elizabeth service station on Tuesday. The car reportedly crashed into a tree before hitting the service station building about 12.15pm Tuesday, on Elizabeth Way near Elizabeth City Centre.
A male driver was taken to hospital with non life threatening injuries.
His vehicle was destroyed.
TRUCK ROLLOVER NEAR GAWLER
A truck driver has also escaped serious injury after rolling his truck at Gawler Belt.
The truck, carrying sand and gravel, rolled on Horrocks Highway, near Thiele Highway, at about midday.
The driver, who suffered no serious injuries, was trapped in the cabin of the truck for a short time before being removed and taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.
A large amount of diesel, as well as the sand and gravel, were split on the Horrocks Highway.
Traffic is flowing on the highway but controls will remain in place for some time while the road is cleaned up.

POLICE HUNT SUSPECT OF VIOLENT SERVO ROBBERY
A man has been arrested following a violent robbery at a Thebarton on Monday night.
The man entered the service station on Port Road allegedly with a firearm, threatening staff before leaving with cash about 9.30pm. The victim was not physically injured.
Police put out a public appeal to find the man, releasing CCTV images of him.
The 34-year-old man from Devon Park was later located at a Croydon Park property and charged with aggravated robbery.
MONDAY, JANUARY 11
WOMAN SOUGHT IN ST AGNES ROBBERY
Police have released CCTV vision of a woman who could assist an investigation into a break-in at St Agnes last week.
Sometime between Monday, January 4, and Tuesday, January 5, a suspect broke into a Kennedy Street home and stole a quantity of jewellery, laptops, and mobile phones.
Police have released CCTV of a woman in the vicinity of the victim’s house at around 9am on Tuesday, January 5, who may be able to assist police with the investigation.
The woman, with black hair, is seen carrying bags around the front area of the property.
Anyone with information on the identity of the woman is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
SUSPICIOUS HOUSE FIRE AT CHRISTIES BEACH
A man has been arrested and charged with arson following a fire that gutted a house at Christies Beach on Tuesday.
The alarm was raised at a Galloway Road property about 11.30am Monday.
When crews arrived at the scene the house was well involved with flames and the roof was threatening to collapse. The fire spread to a neighbouring property’s garden, but did not reach the home before crews extinguished it.
Fire cause investigators are at the scene determined the fire was deliberately lit.
Police arrested a suspect nearby on Dyson Road on Monday afternoon.
The 41-year-old of no fixed address was charged with arson. He has been refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
FAKE BUYER STEALS SCOOTER
A man has been arrested after police spotted him riding a stolen scooter at Pooraka overnight that was allegedly stolen after the victim put an ad on Facebook Marketplace.
L-PLATER BUSTED FOR DRINK DRIVING TWICE IN 24 HOURS
A learner driver has been reported for a string of offences after he was allegedly caught drink driving twice in 24 hours in the state’s South East.
Police stopped a Toyota Camry on the Riddoch Highway at Penola about 7.30pm Friday.
They breath tested the driver, a 22-year-old Naracoorte man, who allegedly returned a positive reading of 0.135, almost three times over the legal blood alcohol limit of 0.05.
He was reported for drink driving, breaching conditions of his learner’s permit, driving without a qualified supervisor and not displaying his learner’s plates.
He was issued an immediate loss of licence for six months.
Several hours later, about 1.40am on Saturday, police spotted a Toyota Camry driving on Butler Terrace at Naracoorte,
Police stopped the car and found the same 22-year-old man they reported hours earlier, driving the car.
He was breath tested, allegedly returning a result of 1.63, more than three times the legal blood alcohol limit.
He was again reported for the same offences as previously, and driving with a suspended licence.
He was issued a second immediate loss of licence, for 12 months, and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will appear in Naracoorte Magistrates Court at a later date.
MAN ARRESTED, HOME-MADE FIREARMS LOCATED
A man has been arrested after police found him in possession of firearms and weapons at Seaton.
Patrols attended a house on Carey Ave about 1pm Sunday after concerns for the occupant’s welfare were raised.
The 50-year-old man was detained and taken to hospital for assessment.
A search of the property located a homemade firearm, ammunition and a set of nunchucks.
The man was released from hospital and later charged with possessing a firearm and ammunition without a licence, and possessing a prohibited weapon.
He was refused police bail to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.
SUNDAY, JANUARY 10
SERIOUS MOTORBIKE CRASH AT PARACOMBE
A motorcyclist has been rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital after crashing at Paracombe.
The man, a 27-year-old from Klemzig, is believed to have hit a barrier on Gorge Road at about 3.30pm on Sunday.
Police and emergency services have attended the scene and the man has been taken to hospital by ambulance with critical injuries.
Gorge Road was closed for several hours while Major Crash Investigators examined the scene. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
MAN CHARGED WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER
A man from Munno Para was charged with attempted murder on Sunday following a domestic violence incident.
The alleged victim was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital. She sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Police were called to a home about 5.30pm on Friday to attend the incident.
The man, 36, was refused bail and is due to appear in Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday.
He was also served with a Police Interim Intervention Order to provide further protection to the victim.
In a statement, police said domestic violence will not be tolerated in South Australia.
“Police will take every action available to protect victims, including arresting the perpetrators,” the statement said.
MAN INJURED IN BOAT FIRE
A man who suffered burns in a fire on a boat on the Murray River was flown to Adelaide on Sunday night.
The incident happened near Blanchetown shortly before 7pm.
Everybody else on the boat escaped without injury.
ARREST OVER HOMEMADE FIREARM
A man has been arrested after police found a home made firearm and nunchucks at his home.
The 50-year-old Seaton man was visited by police on Sunday afternoon after a call with concerns about his welfare.
He was detained and taken to hospital for assessment.
The man will be interviewed and is expected to be charged with firearms offences.
Bail is expected to be refused.
MAN THROWS ROOF TILES AT POLICE
A man has been arrested for throwing roof tiles at police after they disturbed him damaging cars.
The 20-year-old Glenelg man allegedly climbed on to the roof of a house at Burgoyne Drive, Old Reynella, at about 6pm on Saturday and proceeded to throw tiles at police, neighbouring houses and cars.
One of the tiles hit a police officer but there were no injuries.
Several police cars, houses and a laundromat were damaged.
Police visited the street after reports the man had been damaging parked cars.
Residents were told to stay inside while police set up cordons.
The man stayed on the roof for two and a half hours before calmly coming down.
He is expected to be refused police bail and will face court on Monday.
