A woman who was too intoxicated to give a breath test has been taken to hospital after crashing through two fences at Plympton.
Police arrived at Barnacle Bill’s takeaway restaurant on Anzac Highway about 11.30pm on Tuesday night to find a Mitsubishi Magna had crash through fences and hit two parked cars.
Witnesses told police the Magna had left the drive-through bottle shop, hit the accelerator instead of the brake and drove through the fence of the restaurant next door to the bottle shop.
She then crash through permanent outdoor furniture, through another fence and hit two parked cars.
The 62-year-old Glenelg North woman was “grossly intoxicated”, according to police, and was taken to Flinders Medical Centre for treatment to minor injuries.
Blood will be taken to assess her alcohol reading and she is likely to face charges.
