A young man has faced court accused of firing a high-powered gel blaster at people as he drove past them in a car, leaving them in need of medical attention.
Brandon Agostino, 18, of Evanston Park, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
He has yet to plead to nine aggravated counts of assault – six without a weapon, and three while armed.
He has also been charged with possession of a prescription drug.
SA Police allege that, in May, Agostino shot three pedestrians with gel pellets in the space of 10 minutes at Northgate and Lightsview.
All three victims reported the pellets were fired by a passenger in a silver vehicle.
They were all struck multiple times, with one man seeking medical attention after sustaining an eye injury.
Agostino was arrested at his home, where police allegedly seized two gel blaster guns with magazines, two shotguns, a rifle and a quantity of ammunition.
They also allegedly found prescription medication that did not belong to him.
The following month, police categorised gel blasters as firearms – retailers decried the move, saying it would lead to job losses.
On Wednesday, counsel for Agostino asked for time to negotiate with prosecutors about the charges.
Agostino was remanded on continuing bail to face court again in September.
