A man has died after the car he was in slammed into a tree in a fiery crash in the Adelaide Hills.

A man has been killed in a fiery crash at Birdwood in the Adelaide Hills.
Emergency services crews were called to Onkaparinga Valley Rd, just south of Birdwood, where a Mazda sedan crashed into a tree and burst into flames just after 3.30pm.
The driver and sole occupant of the car – a 20-year-old Adelaide Hills man – died at the scene.
Onkaparinga Valley Rd last night remained closed between Muellers and Burfords Hill roads while Major Crash investigators examined the scene.
The man’s death takes the number of lives lost on the state’s roads to 32, compared with 30 at same time last year.
There have been 14 deaths this month alone.
