Attempted murder charge after man stabbed during fight with partner

A man has suffered wounds to his hands while allegedly being attacked by his knife-wielding partner.

Police have charged a 29-year-old man with attempted murder after patrols were called to an Old Reynella house on Sunday morning.

They found another man, in his 30s, with serious cuts to his hands allegedly sustained while he was trying to defend himself.

He was taken to Flinders Medical Centre with non-life- threatening injuries and will undergo surgery.

His partner was refused police bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court today.

He also was issued with an interim intervention order barring any contact with his alleged victim.

Police warn they will not tolerate domestic violence and will take every action available to protect victims.
