A humble, kind-hearted and generous young man has been remembered as one of the crash victims in a horrific weekend of lives lost on South Australian roads last weekend.

Shubham Bhatt, 18, of Aldinga Beach, died crashing his Toyota Corolla into a tree on Pages Flat Road at Myponga on Sunday night.

Crews rushed to the scene about 10pm but were unable to save Mr Bhatt.

His family, the owners of Aldinga Bay Cafe, an Indian restaurant, took to social media on Sunday to let customers know of their tragic loss.

“It is with heavy hearts we let you know that we lost our precious Shubham last night,” a post read.

“The shop will be closed until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you all for your love and thoughts during this hard time.”

Tributes are flowing on social media for Mr Bhatt, including from his former school, Cardijn College.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences on the tragic passing of Shubham,” a post from the school said.

“A very kind-hearted, generous and humble person who always took care of his friends, Shubham was an outstanding young man who left an impact on many of us at Cardijn.”

Another wrote how terrible the news of Mr Bhatt’s passing was.

“What a gorgeous young man you brought into this world, he will be missed.”

Mr Bhatt worked at Aldinga Beach Cafe, and loved cars.

He was one of four people who died in road crashes across the state over the March long weekend, which authorities say is the worst record of lives lost over that period in a decade.

A 23-year-old ACT man, and a 57-year-old Para Vista woman, both died at the scene about midday on Saturday after a truck and ute collided on the Stuart Highway between Glendamo and Pimba.

Hours later, a 26-year-old Campbelltown man died when his ute rolled on a property in Lindley near Morgan in the Riverland.

There have been 21 lives lost so far this year, compared to 18 at the same time last year.
