Police have arrested a third suspect in the theft of a $160,000 Big Bird costume.
The woman was only recently discovered after police reviewed CCTV footage from the time of the alleged crime in April.
Images of the woman were released on Tuesday, and police appealed for her to come forward – or for a member of the public to dob her in.
The 20-year-old woman from Woodville Park was charged with theft.
She was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on September 15.
The revelation came two weeks after two men faced court for the alleged theft.
Tasman Binder, 22 from Murray Bridge, and Cody Alain Milne, 26, from Norwood, are both accused of stealing the Big Bird costume from the Sesame Street Spectacular circus at Bonython Park.
The costume was returned to Bonython Park two days after it went missing, accompanied by an apology note signed by the self-styled “Big Bird bandits” and left in the bird’s beak.
The letter writers assured that “no harm came” to the bird and said he was a “great guy”.
“We are so sorry!!! We had no idea what we were doing, or what our actions would cause,” the letter began.
“We were just having a rough time and were trying to cheer ourselves up.
“We had a great time with Mr Bird. He’s a great guy and no harm came to our friend.
“Sorry to be such a big birden (sic)!
“Sincerely, the Big Bird Bandits.”
Mr Binder and Mr Milne are set to face court again in November.
