A 40-year-old northern suburbs man will face court next month, over serious online child sex offences.

A northern suburbs man has been charged with serious online child sex offences.

Detectives from the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team – made up of South Australia Police and the Australian Federal Police – arrested the 40-year-old man on Tuesday about 10am.

The man is facing two counts of possess child exploitation material and one count of disseminate child exploitation material.

He was bailed to appear at the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on August 13.

Public Protection Branch’s senior Sergeant Graham Tomkins said distributing child abuse videos and images is not a “victimless crime.”

“The South Australia Police alongside our partner agencies, are absolutely committed to prosecuting anyone who goes after our community’s most vulnerable,” Mr Tomkins said.

“I urge anyone in the community who needs to access support to visit the ACCCE website for a full list of available support services with contact details.”

York Peninsula man charged

A Yorke Peninsula man will face court on Wednesday, charged with possessing child exploitation material.

Acting on information received, SA Police officers and Australian Federal Police members of South Australia’s Joint Anti-Child Exploitation Team (JACET) attended an address on the Yorke Peninsula on Tuesday to investigate suspected illegal online activity.

A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged with two counts of possessing child exploitation material.

The man was refused police bail and will appear in the Kadina Magistrates Court today, via video link.
