A 76-year-old woman has been caught driving drunk down the wrong side of a highway at Mount Gambier.

She was one of two drink drivers caught this week, just days after multiple people were busted driving at high speeds or with drugs in their system across the Limestone Coast region.

The woman was stopped after police received a report about 10.45pm on Monday of a vehicle travelling the wrong way on Jubilee Highway East at Mount Gambier.

After locating the vehicle and a short time later, the female Mount Gambier driver recorded a blood test reading of 0.075.

Then about 3:15am on Tuesday, police breath-tested a 25-year-old Suttontown man on his P-plates on Penola Rd.

He recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.202 – more than four times the legal limit

Both were reported for drink driving, and the man for breaching his P-plate licence.

He was issued with a 12-month instant loss of licence and his vehicle was impounded for 28 days.

Both the man and the woman will appear in court at a later date.
