A woman has died after a three-car crash at McLaren Vale last weekend.
The driver who allegedly caused the crash, a 56-year-old Whyalla man who had already been charged with causing harm by dangerous driving, will have his charge upgraded to causing death.
The 61-year-old Willunga woman was flown to Flinders Medical Centre after the crash on Sunday, March 28, and spent a week fighting for her life before she succumbed to her injuries on Saturday night.
The Whyalla man was driving a black Subaru west at the intersection of Main Road and McMurtrie Road when he crashed into a Nissan Pulsar which was travelling south, as well as a grey Subaru travelling north at about 5.40pm last Sunday.
He was arrested and charged on Monday.
The Willunga woman was a passenger in the Pulsar.
Six others people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The intersection was closed for several hours while Major Crash Investigators examined the scene.
