A man has died in hospital after his scooter collided with a car on a busy road west of Adelaide.

A man in his 50s has died in hospital after his scooter collided with a car on a busy road west of Adelaide last weekend.

On Saturday February 17, police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Sir Donald Bradman Dr and James Congdon Dr after reports of a collision between a motor scooter and a car.

The scooter rider, a 56-year-old man from West Beach was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious head injuries and in a critical condition but sadly died in hospital on Wednesday.

Emergency services were called about 12.50pm on Saturday to the crash between an car and a scooter.

A 42-year-old St Clair man who was driving the car, a Subaru station wagon, was not injured.

Major Crash investigators attended the scene to assist traffic officers with examining the circumstances surrounding the crash. Investigations are continuing.
