Emergency services are the scene of a fire at a recycling centre at Hackham.
Crews have been called to the Cottage Lane centre, off Main South Rd, with early reports suggesting a scrap pile has caught alight.
The Metropolitan Fire Service issued a warning that despite no current threat to the community from the blaze, people in the area should be aware.
“If you are in this area, stay informed and monitor local conditions,” the statement said.
“It is recommended if you’re in the area to close your doors and windows and stay inside. Smoke can affect people’s health.”
