Peak hour traffic has been thrown into chaos after a vehicle slammed into a Stobie pole on a major road in Adelaide’s eastern suburbs.

The car collided with the structure on Portrush Rd, in Evandale, about 3.35pm on Tuesday afternoon.

The crash occurred across the road from popular eatery Hong Bao Korean restaurant.

A SA Police spokesman said a tow truck had been called, but thankfully no injuries had been recorded.

The spokesman advised motorists to avoid the area.
