Man, 70, fighting for life following hit-run on Goodwood Road, Goodwood

A woman has been arrested after allegedly causing a hit-run crash south of the CBD on Wednesday night. A man is fighting for life in hospital.

A woman has been arrested after a hit-run crash south of the CBD on Wednesday night

It has left a man fighting for his life in the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

Just before 10pm, police and emergency services were called to Goodwood Rd at Goodwood, after a car hit a pedestrian.

Following the crash, it is alleged the white Kia SUV involved failed to stop and sped off south on Goodwood Rd.

A 29-year-old Cumberland Park woman has been charged with causing harm by dangerous driving and leaving the scene of a collision after causing harm.

The pedestrian, a 70-year-old Goodwood man, remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Goodwood Road was closed to traffic between Gilbert St and Victoria St, and Major Crash investigators were called to the scene.

Earlier in the day, about 8.15am, a 15-year-old boy was hit by a car while riding his bicycle on Portrush Rd at Payneham.

The blue VE Holden Commodore was travelling south on Portrush Rd and turned into Victoria St when it collided with the bike.

Police said the driver sped from the scene, while the boy was taken to hospital with a broken arm.
