Two men charged in SAPOL, Border Force sting after 4000 ecstasy tablets intercepted at Australia Post outlet

Two men will face court after SA Police and Australian Border Force officers intercepted a large quantity of drugs at an Australia Post outlet.

Two men have been arrested after a joint operation between SA Police and Australian Border Force intercepted over 2kg of ecstasy tablets at an Australia Post outlet.

At about midday on Friday, officers from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch arrested a 28-year-old Prospect man and a 34-year old Flagstaff Hill man when they allegedly tried to collect 4000 pills in a package at an Australia Post outlet.

Both men were charged with attempted trafficking a large commercial quantity of a controlled drug.

Their homes were searched and authoritites found a unsecured firearm.

The 34-year-old man was charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, possessing a firearm without a licence and contravening code of practice in relation to the storage of a firearm.

Both men were refused bail and will appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Monday 21 March.
