A truck driver has been charged after a shocking crash in Adelaide’s south left a motorcyclist fighting for his life.
Emergency services rushed to Shepherds Hill Road, Blackwood just after 3.30pm on Thursday, May 22, following reports of a serious collision between a truck and motorcycle.
The rider – a 46-year-old man from Blackwood – suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
The truck driver, a 38-year-old man from Holden Hill, was not physically injured in the crash.
Major Crash Investigators were called to the scene to piece together how the collision unfolded.
Late last night, the truck driver was arrested and charged with causing serious harm by dangerous driving.
Police said his licence was immediately suspended until further notice.
He has been bailed to appear at Christies Beach Magistrates Court on July 31.
Investigations into the crash are continuing and police have urged anyone who witnessed the crash – or who has dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident, or the vehicles involved in the area at the time – to come forward.
