An elderly man has died in hospital from injuries sustained in a collision on the notorious Dukes Hwy in Tintinara, in the state’s South East, this month.

The two-car collision occurred at the intersection of the Dukes Hwy and Fullwood Rd about 12.45pm, on Wednesday, April 10.

The driver of a Mazda hatch, a 91-year-old Tintinara man and his 98-year-old male passenger, were both taken to the local hospital, and the driver died of his injuries on Monday.

The driver of the other car – a 17-year-old girl from Victoria, and her 53-year-old female passenger in a Kia – were not injured in the crash.

Major Crash investigators are investigating the circumstances that led to the fatal collision.

The elderly man’s death is the 28th life lost on South Australian roads so far this year.
