A woman known for her videos on the social media app TikTok has faced court accused of committing numerous sexual offences against a child.

Rachel Queen Burton – known on the app as rachel.queen8008 – faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday by video link from prison.

She has yet to plead to eight child abuse offences ranging from gross indecency to directing a person to sexually manipulate her and producing child exploitation material.

The offences allegedly occurred at various locations in rural and regional South Australia over the course of 2019.

Ms Burton, 44, of Coolalinga in the Northern Territory, describes herself on TikTok as a “proud trans woman” who is “living my best life”.

She has posted 545 videos to the popular online platform, and boasts 36,100 followers.

On Thursday, prosecutors asked the case be adjourned for 10 weeks to allow electronic analysis of Ms Burton’s laptop computer.

Defence counsel opposed that delay, saying their client had been in custody since June and wanted her case “moved as quickly and as fast as possible”.

Magistrate Simon Smart remanded Ms Burton in custody to answer the charges in December.
