Terrence Bradley John Wilson, 33, is one of the those charged over the murder of Oliver Wilfred Todd, 47, at Murray Bridge in 2019.
Mr Todd’s battered body was found at Jervois, near Tailem Bend, six hours after he was reported missing from his home in Tennyson Terrace, Murray Bridge, on December 11, 2019.
Appearing by video-link in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Mr Wilson pleaded not guilty to his murder.
Chief Magistrate Judge Mary-Louise Hribal remanded him in custody to appear before the Supreme Court in August.
Mr Wilson was not arrested until January this year – more than a year after Mr Todd’s death – after police found new information related to the case.
He was already in custody at Mount Gambier Prison at the time.
At the time of the alleged murder, police said Mr Todd had suffered a “severe beating” before his body was found at Jervois near Tailem Bend.
An earlier attack allegedly occurred in his home and is believed to have involved a small tomahawk.
The other men charged over the murder – David James Russell and Ned Timothy Hutchinson – have also pleaded not guilty and will next appear in court in July.
