A wild brawl has erupted near Jetty Rd, Glenelg the same day police were granted extra powers to ban troublemakers from the suburb.

A video obtained by 7News shows a shocking incident involving up to seven men fighting with security staff just before 8pm on Friday evening.

The Advertiser understands the men had just left The Colley Hotel on Jetty Rd.

The men can be seen throwing punches at one another. One onlooker can be heard gasping as she watches a man’s head connect with a brick wall.

One man can be seen lying unresponsive on the ground with passers by stopping to provide assistance.

An SA Police spokeswoman said police were called to a hotel on Jetty Rd just before 8pm Friday evening after reports of a disturbance.

Police will allege four men were behaving in a disorderly manner and assaulted security staff on the nearby Elizabeth St.

Two men from Morphett Vale, a 28-year-old and a 21-year-old, and a 28-year-old from Christie Downs were arrested and charged with assault and affray.

The 28-year-old Morphett Vale man was further charged with property damage. The men were granted police bail to appear in Adelaide Magistrate Court on February 28.

The trio has also been banned from the Glenelg entertainment precinct.

A fourth man, a 36-year-old from Aldinga Beach, was taken to hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and is expected to be charged and banned from the area.

Three victims were taken to hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries.

This week it was announced police were granted extra powers to curb anti-social behaviour in Glenelg over peak times this summer.

Glenelg’s new Declared Public Precinct (DPP) started on Friday and will run until April 7 from 3pm to 3am every week on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Under the DPP, police can conduct drug detection searches and metal detector searches on people to find weapons.

They are also empowered to order any person or group to leave, or even to be permanently banned from the precinct if they pose a risk to public order or safety.

People banned or ordered out could be fined up to $2500 if they return.
