A man found on the roof of a house doing what police called a ‘Spiderman impersonation’ was one of two men arrested after a street pursuit on Thursday night.

Patrols spotted a stolen white Ford station wagon on Prospect Rd, Blair Athol, and attempted to pull it over but the car took off through the backstreets of Prospect.

Police say the two occupants jumped out of the vehicle and ran off and while one man was caught quickly, the other managed to get onto the roof of a house in Farrant St, doing what SA Police Senior Constable Matt Browne told FIVEAA radio was a “Spiderman impersonation”.

Police cordoned off the area and officers negotiated with the man who was safely taken into custody just before 10pm.

A 31-year-old Kilburn man was arrested and charged with illegal use, fail to truly answer questions and drive dangerously to escape police.

He was bailed to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on August 29.

The 32-year-old Elizabeth Park man was arrested and charged with being unlawfully on premises, property damage to the roof, failing to truly answer questions and driving dangerously to escape police.

He did not apply for bail and will appear in court on Friday.

The Ford station wagon, which had been stolen from outside an Elizabeth North home about 3pm Wednesday, was towed away for forensic examination.
