Man and baby girl dead in tragedy at Whispering Wall at the Barossa Valley reservoir
SA Police are investigating the deaths of a man and a baby girl who fell from the Barossa’s Whispering Wall last night, and will speak to the media about the incident at midday.

A man and a baby girl have died after falling from the Whispering Wall tourist attraction at Williamstown as witnesses watched.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, in the Barossa, after 4.30pm on Wednesday to find the man dead and the girl unresponsive.
Paramedics worked on her but she died at the scene.
Multiple people reported seeing the man and girl go over the edge of the 36m-high wall, falling to the ground.
A Medstar helicopter was called to the scene in the afternoon and left in the evening.
Major Crime and Barossa CIB detectives are now investigating the deaths along with forensic crime scene investigators.
No one else is wanted over the incident and police will prepare a report for the coroner.
SA Water this morning said the popular destination would remain closed today and asked all questions to be directed to SAPOL.
A carload of four tourists arrived to the closed gate this morning.
“We had no idea that this had happened, we came from Melbourne and were going to see the famous Whispering Wall, it makes me feel very sad, it’s very serious isn’t it,” one of the tourists said.
More information is expected to come from police at midday.
Local MP Stephan Knoll, the member for Schubert, said it was heartbreaking, especially on the back of bushfires and a spate of road accidents that recently rocked the area.
“It is just heartbreaking ... it does hit everybody hard ... and we all do need to band together. But that’s the beauty of a community like the Barossa. Whenever these things happen ... we do what we can to look after each other,” he told ABC Radio Adelaide.
The Whispering Wall is just outside Williamstown at Barossa Reservoir and is the retaining wall of the reservoir.
Built more than a century ago, it is a popular tourist destination because of its ability to carry sound from one end to the other, over more than 100m.
