A wanted woman who allegedly stabbed her stepfather and took to social media to defend herself has been arrested.
A warrant was issued on Friday for Sammi Kendrick, 25, of no fixed address, who allegedly stabbed Terrence Kerslake, 49, of Mount Gambier, in the back at a house on Patricia Ave at Camden Park on Saturday, September 11.
Police and STAR Group officers arrested Kendrick at a Findon home on Saturday and arrested her.
She was charged with aggravated assault causing serious harm and has been refused bail to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
On September 22, Kendrick took to multiple social media platforms, including TikTok, where she posted a video of herself captioned “lazy Sundays”.
In another video posted the same day, she claimed she was “innocent in this”.
“I didn’t viciously attack him at all,” she said.
“I’m not a bad person.”
The mother of three also posted a status on her Facebook page on Sunday evening, making serious allegations against her stepfather. The Advertiser will not publish the post for legal reasons.
Mr Kerslake was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
“It went in and came back out and it pierced my … like cut a blood vessel … and then nicked my lung,” he told 7NEWS.
Ms Kendrick left the scene before police arrived.
She was allegedly caught in July taking a disabled pensioner’s wheelchair from his Richmond backyard.
The wheelchair was returned to its owner on Saturday, July 31, after it was abandoned outside a Cowandilla home. It was missing for five days.
