A man in his 60s will likely serve time after admitting to breaking into a Keith clothing store last year.
Roger Kenneth Hammett appeared via video link from custody at the Mount Gambier Magistrate Court on Wednesday.
Hammett pleaded guilty to one count of serious criminal trespass after he broke into Out and About Clothing on September 27 with the intention of committing theft.
In the bizarre footage released by police, Hammett has a t-shirt wrapped around his head and a flashlight between his teeth.
Hammett’s defence lawyer Joseph Sanders conceded he would likely be sentenced to further time in prison but asked for an adjournment to have a psychologist report prepared.
Mr Sanders said he had recently become aware of events from Hammett’s “past life” and he believed he would benefit from forensic psychologist assessment.
Magistrate Maria Panagiotidis said the report would be helpful.
“The defendant’s record, it‘s not insignificant,” Magistrate Panagiotidis said.
Hammett was remanded for submissions in September.
