A Port Lincoln home care worker will face court after she allegedly stole property from her clients.
SA police allege the 52-year-old woman was arrested on November 5, 2023 for theft in relation to property suspected to have been stolen while she was working as an aged care worker in Port Lincoln.
She was charged with unlawful possession and deception and bailed to appear in the Port Lincoln Magistrates Court in May.
Eyre and Far North Local Health Network Chief Executive Officer, Julie Marron said the home care worker was suspended on November 6 and resigned effective November 28.
“We are supporting our clients and staff as the SAPOL investigation continues,” she said.
“As this matter is before the courts, we are unable to comment further.”
In a separate case, Adelaide cleaner Lana Pontt was sentenced to home detention in 2022 after she stole more than $90,000 worth of precious heirlooms and jewellery from her clients.
The court heard Pontt went on to steal “almost every item of jewellery” from one client, including her beloved grandmother’s wedding ring which Pontt later pawned “for a pittance”.
