Police news: Port Augusta man dies after being hit by bus

A 28-year-old has died after being hit by hit by a bus moments after he exited it.

A man has died after being struck by a bus in Port Augusta.

It is understood the 28-year-old parked the bus on Conroy St at about 3.30pm.

Police believe he parked the bus and after exiting, the bus rolled forward and hit him.

He was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Major crash offices attended the scene.

The man’s death is the 64th on SA roads so far this year.

It follows a crash at Carpenter Rocks in the state’s South-East on Thursday night, which killed a 52-year-old man.
