Police news: Drug trafficking charges from a routine traffic stop

Ice pipes, a positive meth reading and a huge bundle of cash were found when police pulled over a car on Anzac Hwy last night, leading them to a passenger’s home – and more drugs.

The Advertiser/7NEWS Adelaide: Two caught after police chase

During a routine traffic stop, police found ice pipes and a big bundle of cash leading to a house search and more drugs.

At about 5.55pm on Tuesday 20 June officers stopped a Holden Cruze on Anzac Highway.

The driver submitted to a driver screening test and recorded a positive reading to methamphetamine.

Police say the driver, a 47-year-old Findon woman, was also in possession of two ice pipes. She was issued a drug diversion and will be spoken to once her driver screening test has been forensically examined.

Patrols searched the car and located more than $13,000 cash and meth.

The find led to the search of the passenger’s Glenelg home where more than 70ml of fantasy was found with more ice pipes and bongs.

The 66-year-old passenger was charged with trafficking a controlled drug and unlawful possession.

He was bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on August 30.
