A woman was killed in a crash at Hindmarsh Valley on Thursday afternoon, as South Australia’s road horror continues.

The 62-year-old from Cairns in Queensland was a passenger, and one of three people travelling in a silver Subaru Forester, that was involved in a side-on collision with an orange Ford Territory just after 12.10pm.

The crash happened as the Ford pulled out from the intersection of Hindmarsh Tiers Road and Victor Harbor Road.

The two other occupants of the Subaru were flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital and the Flinders Medical Centre.

The driver of the Ford was treated for leg fractures and taken to the FMC.

A passenger in the Ford, an eight-month-old child, was not injured. Major crash investigators attended the scene.

Victor Harbor Road was closed all afternoon and for the majority of the evening.

Acting Inspector Andrew Kemp said the crash was another reminder to South Australians to take extra care on the roads.

“We are imploring people to make good decisions on the road and look after the safety of all road users,” he said.

At Clearview, a 93-year-old man died after he was hit by a truck at Clearview on Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called to Hampstead Road, near Windsor Avenue, about 10.45am, after reports a pedestrian had been struck.

The Clearview man was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he died on Friday.

The truck driver, a 40-year-old man from Angle Vale, was not injured in the crash, but taken to hospital as a precaution

The man’s death is the 37th on South Australian roads this year, compared to 32 at the same time last year.
