A wanted outlaw bikie who was on the run after allegedly bashing a good Samaritan to the brink of death has appeared in court.

Danny Rapley, who police say is a member of the outlaw Comanchero motorcycle gang, was arrested two days after he allegedly assaulted a man who stepped in to intervene in an altercation between Rapley and a woman about 5.15pm Sunday.

The man suffered critical head injuries, before Rapley and the woman rode away from the scene on a blue Suzuki motorbike.

Rapley, 42, of Salisbury North, was arrested at a Kilburn address at 11.30am on Tuesday without incident, and was charged later that day with causing serious harm.

The victim, a 49-year-old from Paralowie, was flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

The man was not known to Rapley, according to police, who released an image of the wanted man and warned people not to approach him.

Appearing in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Wednesday, Rapley did not apply for bail and will next appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court in June.

Police ask if anyone has any dashcam footage or CCTV of the incident to please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or online – you can remain anonymous.
