A 61-year-old O’Sullivan Beach resident is in a serious but stable condition following an incident on Friday night.

Police and emergency services were called to a property at Morrow Road just before 5:30pm, after reports of a man driving a black sedan around the outside of a shed and pouring accelerant on the ground.

The incident escalated when the man was disturbed by the man who lived there, leading to the suspect driving his car at him, trapping the homeowner between the sedan and a trailer, before fleeing the scene on foot.

The Advertiser understands the victim’s trailers have been taken away by police.

Wet patches on the ground near the shed are believed to be from accelerant the suspect poured around the man’s property.
