A young man has confessed to child-sex offending in a small country town in South Australia.
On Friday, Murray John Miller, from a regional SA town, appeared in the District Court for the first time to enter guilty pleas to multiple child-sex offences.
Miller, through the video link remained silent as his lawyer asked for at least four weeks to prepare to make submission in relation to sentencing.
Miller pleaded guilty to one count of sexually abusing a child, two counts of producing child exploitation material, two counts of disseminating child exploitation material, one count of possessing child exploitation material and once count of obtaining access to child exploitation material.
Judge Geraldine Davidson lifted suppressions to allow reporting of some of the details of the offences, but other suppressions remain in place to protect the identity of the victim.
Court documents released to The Advertiser show the offending occurred in 2023 at multiple locations across South Australia including in small country towns.
The 24-year-old feral cat shooter was arrested and extradited to SA from NSW in July last year in relation to the offences, and has been in custody since that date.
On Friday, prosecutors told the court that multiple victim impact statements would be provided to the court prior to the sentencing submissions hearing.
Judge Geraldine Davidson remanded Miller in custody to return to court on the next occasion.
