A duo who allegedly robbed a southern suburbs supermarket while brandishing what appeared to be a firearm faced court on Thursday and will now spend Christmas behind bars.
It is alleged that 25-year-old Jake Faustmann and his 21-year-old housemate Daniel Smith, live just several hundred metres away from the IGA they robbed.
About 11.50pm on Sunday, patrols were called to a shopping centre on Heysen Dr at Trott Park after reports of a robbery.
Police say two men entered the supermarket and one was armed with what looked like a gun.
The men allegedly stole $7000 in cash and dozens of packets of cigarettes while they pointed a firearm at the employee and fled the store on foot.
Police have not been able to locate what appeared to be a firearm, and prosecutors said there was no reason to believe that it was fake.
On Sunday, Police arrived at the scene with police dog Enzo and found a track, however were unable to find the suspects.
However, on Wednesday afternoon, investigating police including detectives, STAR, Crime Gangs Task Force and PD Harriet attended a Trott Park home to conduct a search.
Inside, police say they found two men, aged 25 and 21, along with an amount of cash and cigarettes. Police also allegedly located a taser, capsicum spray, illicit substances and equipment.
Both men were charged with aggravated robbery and possessing prohibited weapons and faced the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on Thursday.
The men applied for bail, but have been remanded in custody until the face court again in May.
