A mother accused of trying to stab her two sons to death on the side of the North-South Motorway has pleaded not guilty.

A mother accused of trying to kill her two children has pleaded not guilty and her mental competence to commit the crime will be challenged in the Supreme Court.
Megan Jayne Somerville, 35, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with two counts of attempted murder.
Trish Johnson, for Ms Somerville, pleaded not guilty to the offences on behalf of her client.
Peter Cannell, prosecuting, told the court that he was asking for a fast tracked committal of Mr Somerville to the Supreme Court.
“There is a case to answer on the information already provided and there is more to come,” he said.
He said there would be a mental competence defence raised in the Supreme Court.
Ms Somerville appeared via video link from a closed mental health facility and did not react during the hearing.
Magistrate Michelle Sutcliffe committed the matter for arraignment in the Supreme Court in February next year.
Ms Somerville is accused of stabbing her two young sons, aged three and eight, on the side of the North-South Motorway in Wingfield in August this year.
A passing member of the public disarmed Ms Somerville and detained her until police arrived.
Ms Somerville has not applied for bail.
