Man in a life-threatening condition after serious Middleton crash

A 40-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital in a life-threatening condition following a crash at Middleton, while a seven-year-old boy has escaped injury.

A 40-year-old man is in a life-threatening condition after suffering serious leg injuries in a crash at Middleton.

Just before 3.30pm on Monday, a car left the road and collided with a tree near the intersection of Michelmore Rd and Airport Rd, Middleton.

The Fleurieu man was stuck in the car and has sustained serious leg injuries. He was airlifted to Flinders Medical Centre and police said his condition was considered life-threatening.

A seven-year-old boy was also in the vehicle but escaped injury.

Road closures will remain in place around the area while Major Crash officers examine the scene, motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
