A man has been shot in a horrific armed robbery in Adelaide’s northern suburbs.
Just after 7am on Saturday, police were called to Willow Crescent, Elizabeth Vale, after reports three men forced their way into a home and threatened the occupant.
The men demanded cash before shooting the victim in the leg, leaving with an amount of cash.
The victim, known as Eddie is a 59-year-old Elizabeth Vale man who was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Neighbour Zoe Palmer, 17 said she woke up to banging.
“I went to sleep at 5.30am so I hadn’t had much sleep,” the high school student said.
“We didn’t think much of it … there’s always banging around here.”
Eddie’s friend Julie arrived at his home this morning wanting to check on him after she spoke to him the night before.
She was shocked to find out what happened to her friend.
While a link between the victim and the suspects is undetermined by police at this stage, authorities believe it was a targeted attack.
