A man has been taken to hospital after he was stabbed in the neck during a home invasion north of the CBD on Monday morning.
About 4.15am, two men and two women allegedly broke into a home on Hazel Grove at Ridgehaven and assaulted the residents.
Police said items were stolen from the home before the group fled in a vehicle.
The injured man, 34, who police said had a “serious laceration to his neck”, was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment.
Another two men at the home, aged 27 and 48, were also assaulted and treated at the scene.
Following investigations, police arrested a 37-year-old Magill woman and 28-year-old Highbury woman over the incident.
Both have been charged with serious criminal trespass and causing serious harm, while the younger woman was also charged with breaching bail and dishonestly dealing with property.
They have been refused police bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Just before 9am, a friend who identified himself as Rick arrived at the home and sat on a chair near the front door.
He said he was not aware of what had happened and had come to visit the resident, who he identified as a man named Owen.
Rick said there had previously been problems in the neighbourhood.
“There’s always dramas going on around here,” he said. “The usual riff-raff.”
Rick said Owen lived at the property with “a couple of friends”.
Jan Barelds, who lives next door with his wife, said he heard noise coming from the home earlier in the night.
“There was talking between people, loud conversations,” he said.
“I went to bed at 1.50, I didn’t hear anything after that until the police knocked on my door and told me it was a break-in, a home invasion they said.”
Mr Barelds said it had been similarly noisy on Saturday night.
“Owen stays awake very late at night ... he’s a good lad, always friendly,” he said.
Another neighbour, who did not want to be named, said Owen lived at the home with his mother until she moved out about two months ago.
Since then, he had been joined by two others who were living in a caravan parked at the front of the property
“It’s been noisy night and day since they got there,” the neighbour said.
