Man filmed jumping from David Jones balcony to Mall’s Balls described ‘dangerous and reckless’ by police

A man who jumped from a balcony on to the Mall’s Balls has been described as “reckless” by police.

The actions of a man who was filmed performing a ballsy jump on to an Adelaide icon has been dubbed “dangerous and reckless” by authorities.

A video surfaced online on Thursday evening of a man leaping from the David Jones balcony onto the Mall’s Balls.

The man, who was wearing a face mask and beanie, can be seen clapping to himself as he successfully lands the jump.

Police are attempting to find the man.

“Police are aware of the video on social media and are investigating,” a statement said.

“The man’s actions are dangerous and reckless with potential to cause serious injury to himself or others.

A Rundle Mall spokesman said they were aware of the incident.

“We are aware of a video on social media of someone jumping on to the Mall’s Balls,” the statement said.

In September last year, vandals attacked Rundle Mall’s bronze pigs, an act that Lord Mayor Sandy Verschoor described at the time as “ridiculous.”

“It is just ridiculous – 21 years they have been (in the mall) without incident,” Ms Verschoor said.

South African-born artist Marguerite Derricourt created the pigs after winning Adelaide City Council’s public art work competition.
