Man caught hiding in bushes after car break-ins at Camden Park

Police are asking residents in a western suburb to check their vehicles and report any potential crimes after an arrest on Tuesday night.

A man found hiding in bushes has been arrested after police responded to reports of vehicle break-ins in Camden Park during the night.

Police were called to Fitzroy Ave just after 2.30am on Wednesday, after reports a person was breaking into cars.

When police arrived with Dog Operations they found a bicycle and tools in the front yard of a home before finding a man hiding under bushes nearby.

The suspect, a 46-year-old man from Novar Gardens was arrested and charged with illegal interference, unlawfully on premises, possessing a housebreaking implement, and possessing a controlled drug.

SA Police senior constable Kimberley Board told ABC radio residents in the area should check their vehicles and report any potential crimes.

“We are asking residents who are living in that area of Fitzroy Ave, Camden Park, they might wake up to find either their car has been interfered with or something stolen from it – if they could report that to police,” she said.

The Novar Gardens man has been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday July 29.
