Man allegedly armed with knife arrested after police pursuit from Glenelg North across Adelaide

A man has been arrested after a police pursuit through Adelaide in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Police say they saw a Renault Koleos station wagon travelling on Tapleys Hill Rd, Glenelg North, without its lights on and speeding, about 12.30am.

The police helicopter was nearby and monitored the car throughout multiple Adelaide suburbs.

Road spikes were successfully deployed on Everard Ave, Ashford, and police then saw a man fleeing from the car.

The man – a 23-year-old from Seaton – was found a short time later on James Congden Dr.

He was arrested and charged with engaging in police pursuit, carrying an offensive weapon, carrying a knife and prohibited weapon, illegal use of motor vehicle and numerous traffic offences.
