Man, 27, who ran onto Adelaide Oval topless during Saturday’s Showdown charged

A man who interrupted Saturday night’s AFL Showdown 49 by running onto Adelaide Oval has been charged.

A topless man who ran onto Adelaide Oval during the AFL Showdown on Saturday night has been charged and will face court.

The man, 27, of Cheltenham, wearing white shorts and a face mask, ran onto the oval and interrupted the match before the second half begun.

Several security guards chased the streaker down, before he was caught near the centre circle of the field.

The man was subsequently arrested and charged with entering field of play.

He now faces a minimum three-year ban from Adelaide Oval and a maximum fine of $5000 for the stunt.

The man will face court at a later date.
