Investigations by Major Crime detectives into the death of a woman in Adelaide’s inner-eastern suburbs have continued into the second day.

Police and Major Crime detectives scoured two units on St Margarets Cres in Felixstow after being called to the cul-de-sac about 1.30pm Wednesday.

The woman is believed to have been a 44-year-old resident of one of the units.

Investigators will be completing an comprehensive investigation into the circumstances that led up to her death.

Nearby neighbour Lewis Baker said he was shocked to see police on his street and to hear a woman’s body had been found there.

“The street was blocked off and detectives (were there) … I’m not sure what was going on,” he said.

Mr Baker said the people who lived in the unit where the body was found were “good people”.

“It’s a strange thing … a spooky street or something,” he said.

About 2.30pm detectives removed what appeared to be an arm chair wrapped in paper from one of the units.

Several other items were removed from the unit in evidence bags.

A police spokeswoman said Eastern District officers, Major Crime detectives and crime scene investigators were at the scene and examining the cause of the woman’s death.

Police said a scene guard would remain in place on Wednesday night as police tried to determine how the woman died.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
