Security vision has captured the moment a machete-wielding robber burst into a North Adelaide convenience store and terrorised a worker before robbing the shop.
A suspect entered the Melbourne Street shop at about 10pm on Tuesday, November 21, and police were called after reports the man was armed with a knife and threatened a staff member.
In the security footage, the suspect can be heard demanding the store worker put money into a bag.
The worker firmly tells the armed robber to “shut up” and that cameras were capturing the exchange before calmly surrendering the register.
Convenience store boss Sam Shah told 7 NEWS the worker had done everything right in the face of the terrifying ordeal.
“(The knife) is a big one and it seems very threatening,” he said.
“We work seven days a week, this is the second time it happened in eight or nine months.
“We hope the cops will be able to find some clues on who the person is.”
Police report the suspect then stole an amount of cash from the till and fled the scene in a southerly direction.
No one was injured.
