A learner driver is set to be fined after crashing into two pedestrians at a shopping centre car park in Aberfoyle Park earlier this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the Hub Shopping Centre on Hub Drive shortly after midday following reports of a vehicle collision involving pedestrians.
Police say a Holden Commodore sedan lunged forward while attempting to park, hitting two pedestrians and knocking them to the ground. Both suffered minor injuries and abrasions.
One of the victims, a man in his 70s, was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The vehicle also sideswiped a parked car and struck the front of a nearby chicken shop.
The 20-year-old driver, from Old Noarlunga, holds a learner’s permit but did not have a qualified supervising driver in the vehicle at the time. He and his young passengers were uninjured.
He is expected to be issued an expiation notice for failing to maintain proper control of a vehicle and for breaching learner permit conditions.
The car was towed from the scene.
