An ex-Adelaide woman accused of twice attempting to kill her former partner – then plotting to kill him and his mother after those attempts failed – has arrived back in Adelaide under heavy police guard after being extradited from the Pacific islands.
Lisa Lines, 43, was arrested last week on the tiny island nation of Palau – where she had been travelling under the alias Scarlett Ellis Lee – and boarded a flight to Adelaide on Friday night from Brisbane.
Ms Lines arrived at Adelaide Airport at 8.05pm, flanked by police officers, about 15 minutes later than her scheduled arrival time.
She appeared to be in a sombre mood, as she was walked through the terminal with her hands hidden beneath a black piece of clothing, keeping her head down as travellers stopped to observe the scene.
Two female police officers accompanied Ms Lines from the tarmac before escorting her through the airport and into an elevator.
Eight police officers could be seen waiting at gate 24 for Ms Lines to arrive along with hundreds of travellers preparing for their own flights.
Ms Lines was arrested on a warrant and is accused of attempting to twice murder her former partner Jonathon Hawtin – who was rendered a tetraplegic after one of the attacks – and then plotting to kill Mr Hawtin and his mother Rohnda Hawtin.
Some of the charges relate to an incident at Littlehampton, in the Adelaide Hills, in 2017, with her then-love Zacharia Bruckner.
Mr Bruckner was last week extradited from Brisbane and appeared in court in Adelaide on Monday.
The warrant for Ms Lines’s arrest was issued last August, when she went overseas following the acquittal of Mr Hawtin on murder charges
