The threat of a fire in Pearlah, 25km north of Port Lincoln, has been reduced

A short-lived “leave now” messages for a an out of control bushfire near Port Lincoln has been swiftly downgraded.

A fire is burning out of control at Pearlah, about 25km north of Port Lincoln, with residents told to take care in the area.

The scrub fire, which is burning in a south east direction towards forest farm, was brought to the attention of the Country Fire Service just after 12pm on Saturday.

A warning message was issued just before 1pm instructing those in the area to leave immediately.

The message has since been retracted with only an advice warning remaining.

The CFS instructs people nearby to take care as smoke with reduce visibility and there is a risk of falling branches.

The fire is currently uncontrolled with conditions continually changing.
