Lachlan Anthony Charles Pike-Wills charged over shootings at Gulfview Heights and Birkenhead

A man allegedly involved in a violent home invasion is now also charged over a second shooting – and was pictured holding the gun used both times, a court heard.

A man charged over two suburban shootings two days apart is allegedly pictured holding a gun used in both, prosecutors have told a court.

On Wednesday, Lachlan Anthony Charles Pike-Wills appeared via video link in the Adelaide Magistrates Court to apply for home-detention bail for the second time.

The court heard the 22-year-old Pooraka man was granted home-detention bail after he and three others were arrested over an alleged violent home invasion in Gulfview Heights on January 30.

A court heard four men wielding hammers allegedly entered a home, with the homeowner shot through a door during the rampage. He has since recovered.

Prosecutors immediately sought a Supreme Court bail review to keep him in custody – but an hour before it was scheduled to begin, Mr Pike-Wills was arrested over a separate shooting, his counsel told a court last week.

Mr Pike-Wills is now also charged over a “drive-by shooting” in Mead St, Birkenhead, about 8.15pm on January 29 – the day before the Gulfview Heights shooting.

The court heard prosecutors had obtained footage of the Birkenhead shooting from what they alleged was Mr Pike-Wills’ phone.

They allege it shows Jayden John Sansbury, 29, of Prospect – also accused over the Gulfview Heights – shooting the firearm from a car window.

Counsel for Mr Pike-Wills said there were significant issues with all cases before the court relating to their client, including that the phone was not registered to him and four other people had access to it.

Prosecutors told the court further analysis of the phone was required, and it also allegedly contained an image of Mr Pike-Wills holding a firearm – the same one used in both shootings.

Mr Pike-Wills is charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass in a place of residence, aggravated dishonestly taking property, aggravated causing serious harm with intent and possessing a firearm without licence in relation to the Gulfview Heights incident.

He is also facing firearm and dishonesty charges in relation to the separate Birkenhead matters.

He is yet to enter a plea.

Magistrate Justin Wickens refused bail on due to the seriousness of the alleged offending and remanded Mr Pike-Wills in custody to next appear in June.
