A killer truck driver has returned to court after allegedly getting back behind the wheel – despite his licence being disqualified for a three-hour spate of crashes earlier this month.

On Friday, Virginia truckie of 35 years, Richard Murray Timperon, 57, appeared via video link in Elizabeth Magistrates Court after being arrested.

The court heard Mr Timperon had driven while under a licence disqualification issued weeks earlier. He has also been charged with a breach of bail.

Mr Timperon had been granted supervised bail on August 16 after being charged over three separate traffic incidents on one Monday morning four days earlier.

The court heard Mr Timperon was accused of a violent road rage altercation at a service station, was allegedly involved in collisions at Hindmarsh and Findon, and was issued with a 12-month loss of licence.

He is yet to enter pleas to charges of assault, driving in a reckless or dangerous manner, failing to give particulars to a police officer and failing to stop at a crash scene.

The court previously heard Mr Timperon was found guilty by a jury in 2003 of causing death by dangerous driving for the death of 17-year-old P-plater Russell Fiebig of Booleroo Centre.

On Friday, Magistrate Rodney Oates told counsel for Mr Timperon and prosecutors that Mr Timperon’s residence at a caravan park was not suitable for home detention bail, and any lesser form of bail would not be considered.

Defence withdrew their application for bail, and Mr Timperon was remanded in custody to face Kadina Magistrates Court later this month.
